Public Organization Neksigol Mushovir have started trainings within the Training Laboratory in 2014. The aim of the Training Laboratory is capacity building of participants and supporting organizations of agricultural value chains. Trainings are conducted in Sughd and Khatlon regions. The Training Laboratory 2014 is supported by the Local Market Development project of the Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and ICCO Cooperation. Thus, training participants have the opportunity to pay only part of the training cost.

At the moment, according to the organization work plan, trainings were conducted for loan officers of OJSC Eskhata Bank and CJSC Imon International.

The objectives of the training are to improve of professional skills of loan officers in agricultural lending and to strengthen their practical skills in assessment of target crops.

This time the training had a different format, that is it was conducted in the format of field training.

It allowed to participants to get acquainted with methods of cultivation of cotton, rice, potatoes, onions and care of apricot and apple trees directly in the fields, as well as with potential risks. As it was noted by the Coordinator on agro-credits development of OJSC Bank Eskhata Shuhrat Usmonov: “During the two days more than 15 our loan officers from districts and cities of Sughd region in order to strengthen their knowledge visited J. Rasulov, Spitamen, Istaravshan, Ganchi and they got acquainted with cultivation methods directly in the fields. I believe that knowledge we received will help for proper analysis and providing credits, for the efficiency of loan officers’ work and most importantly to facilitate understanding between loan officers and farmers”.

In order to make training more effective for participants it was developed the Handbook on target crops.

The guide includes comprehensive information about these crops, including information about their varieties and adaptability to the regions, crop rotation, crop yields, cultivation and protection and technological card for them.

As a result, the participants and their organizations were satisfied with quality of the trainings. Currently, we are conducting the monitoring of the use of the knowledge received in the trainings by participants in their work.

In 2014, we are going to conduct such two-day trainings for loan officers from other financial institutions, agronomists, specialists of agro-shops and processing enterprises. For each training we will develop a special Handbook on the topic of the training and distribute it among participants as training handouts.

Trainings within the Training Laboratory 2014 will be conducted on the following topics:

  • The role of physical monitoring and inspection of crops as a tool for preventing risks of non-repayments of credit
  • Innovative crop protection methods
  • What do I need to know, if I am selling seeds?
  • How to make a successful presentation? (for processing companies)
