The first series of seminars on Integrated Quality Management Systems (IQMS) in the food processing sector was held within the EU-funded project. Due to safety regulations in connection with the current pandemic, seminars were conducted in the form of webinars and attended by more than 30 specialists from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Two more week-long webinars are planned as part of the program, along with classroom trainings, an exam and the subsequent pilot implementation of integrated quality management systems at various enterprises in the region in 2021.
The goal of the trainings is to build the capacity of regional experts and consultants from the Central Asian countries working in state agencies and the private sector in the field of integrated quality management systems.
The trainings are conducted by an accredited Austrian company, Quality Austria – a leading organization in the field of integrated management systems based on quality management, environment, occupational health and safety, and industry standards.
The trainings are organized by CANDY V consortium headed by the Austrian organization Hilfswerk International, as part of the project “Regional Integration and Capacity Building to Boost Competitiveness of MSMEs in Agribusiness and Trade Promotion in Central Asia” financed by the European Union program “Central Asia – Invest V” and Austrian Development Agency.
